The week kicked off with an insane bang and a new precedent on Mutant Monday as ApeCoin DAO funded NFT launchpad Blever announced that the recently minted Cheempz collection was created by a serial rugger, so they froze the funds and refunded holders!

“Despite our vetting, Cheempz was revealed to be linked to multiple rugs, Blever tweeted yesterday. "Once we had irrefutable evidence, we froze all mint funds. After a snapshot at 3:53 ET, 100% of funds were redistributed to holders. Huge thanks to all who helped investigate and expose these bad actors.”

After Blever’s professional post, the platform’s Co-Founder Cos took to the timeline and put this in terms Degens could understand. “We don't want this shit on our chain, gtfo,” he tweeted.

Since the announcement, Apes and $Apes have been flooding the timeline to thank Belver for doing the right thing and taking a stand against blatant scams on ApeChain.

“upS foR beiNg a gooD sTeWaRd in the space,” ApeChain NFT project Dong Socks tweeted. “hOw we reSpoNd iN thOse tiMES is crItICaL.”

Belver’s decision to swiftly address the situation also inspired fellow ApeChain NFT minting platform AIOW to take a firm stance of their own.

“FYI , anyone caught doing something like this will be banned from using @AIOW_io platform,” Shiba King tweeted. “If we find out you are using multiple IDs additional action will be taken. Take this crap to another chain”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to monitor how this move impacts ApeChain and whether it makes would-be scammers think twice before coming for $Ape. Stay tuned for updates.
