A permanent Bored Ape Yacht Club clubhouse in Miami was the talk of the swamp last night after Yuga Labs CEO Garga posted an animated image of the bar, fueling speculation that an update on this highly anticipated in real life space for Apes may be coming soon!

It was a what and when Wednesday on X after Garga shared an image of the BAYC featuring a glowing door and a simple gorilla emoji; a post that many primates took as a sign that something is brewing!

“Looks like IRL clubhouse on the menu,” Longtime BAYC member Phil tweeted. “Stay Bored.”

While Garga didn’t explicitly say that last night’s post was about the BAYC’s in real life clubhouse, the signs are all there, especially considering his comments earlier this year when he called it the “number one priority for BAYC in 2025.”

“I’m not sure how long it will take to finally get it done, but we are full steam ahead on the BAYC clubhouse,” he told VeraTheApe on an episode of her VeraTheIntern Podcast in January 2025. “The team will kill me if I promised its opening in 2025 and it doesn’t open. But yes, we are working on it."

As The Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the idea of an IRL clubhouse was first revealed as part of BAYC’s Roadmap 2.0 in September 2021.

While we still don’t know much about the clubhouse, or if that’s what Garga was alluding to last night, we do know that former BAYC Creative Director Jeff Nicholas gave us a glimpse of the planned vibe back in the summer of 2024.

“Think about it like a high end dive bar,” Nicholas said in May 2024. “I’ve been saying not so divey that your feet stick to the floor, but also not so high end that it's uncomfortable. Dave on our team likes to say that we are not building Cheesecake Factory, we are not building Hakkasan. But it’s more like our real-life version of Cheers with a ton of member perks and great vibes. It’s going to be really really sick.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow all things clubhouse and will let you know when Yuga Labs gives an official update. Stay tuned for more!
