SPOTLIGHT: Meet One Of, If Not The Youngest, BAYC Members Igor The Ape

This Miami teenager may be the youngest Bored Ape Yacht Club member!

Igor the Ape began trading cryptocurrency a few years ago at the age of 12 and he took liking to the world of crypto. “I loved the feeling it brought,” Igor said. “And for a 12-year-old it’s easier to learn than stocks and more to earn!”

After trading coins for a while, Igor, who recently turned 15-years-old, found out about NFTs and aped into the world of Web3.

“My first Nft was some sort of dragon,” Igor told the Gazette. “After that I purchased sandbox land, and then I went on flipping small NFTs, up until January 2022 which is when I become the world’s youngest ape holder!”

On January 16, 2022, Igor purchased Bored Ape #7935, according to Etherscan.

Bored Ape #7935 is a six-trait tan fur primate with a commie hat and a diamond stud earring. Igor purchased Bored Ape #7935 for 89.69 Eth or $300,000 USD, according to Etherscan.

When asked what it feels like to be the youngest BAYC holder, Igor told the Gazette that it’s great. “It feels good especially getting to meet other apes and sharing our story’s, though sometimes I don’t feel like people take me seriously,” he said.

1: “What’s the typical day like for the youngest BAYC member?”

“The day is dependent on whether or not I have school but here is a simple breakdown 8:30 to 3:30 school Get home 4:30-6:30 school work Then go to hockey or whatever else I have depending on the day. After that I will get home have dinner finish any more schoolwork, and then work on my project, join space, and do crypto research, till around 1:30 ish.”

2: What do your friends think about NFTs?

“Most of my friends are intrigued and interested about NFTs but aren’t that educated about the topic.”

3: As a teenager, what do you think the future of NFTs is?

“First off I think me being a teenager shouldn’t make a difference, but I believe the future of NFTs is gonna be the utility they can offer, the power of blockchain technology, and the incorporation of Web3. “

4: What are your thoughts on the Otherisde?

“I think at the moment it’s just a great idea but I do hope in the coming months we can see more progress and development! “

5: What made you want to join the BAYC?

“I wanted a bored ape because the community it fosters is unmatched! The connections you can make through the BAYC are priceless! “

6: What’s your favorite subject in school? And what do you want to study in college?

"My favorite classes in school are business related but my favorite “core class” is history. For college I believe that at the moment I want to go to business school but who knows what the future has in store for me!"

7: Are you working on anything in crypto or the NFT space?

“Currently I am working on the first ever city centric NFT project called Digital Dolphins! On top of being focused on IRL utilities such as car rentals and exclusive access to night clubs, digital dolphins also plans to give back to the community by donating a portion of mint to charity!
