After Yuga Labs announced its upcoming collaboration with A Bathing Ape, this bored tailor got to work and began fitting his fellow primates in Bored Ape Yacht Club inspired streetwear!
Thirty years after BAPE founders Nigo and SK8THING came up with the company after binge watching the 1968 film, Planet of the Apes, and two and a half years after BAYC members first pitched the idea of a Bathing Bored collab, the two brands have come together because ‘Apes together Strong!'
“Been a fan since way back,” the BAYC casually tweeted along with a first-person view animation of Curtis rummaging through his closet and finding a Bathing Ape X Bored Ape tee between his favorite Hawaiian shirts!
Following the club's tweet, BAYC Member, Dilly Dilly, did not dilly dalddle and quickly got to work making a Bathing Ape X Bored Ape tee edit for the community!
“GM Bored Bape Yacht Club,” Dilly Dilly tweeted along with a photo of his Bored Ape wearing the same that was in Curtis’ closet.
“I made the shirt because I enjoy making edits of my ape with whatever the current thing is, I figured other apes would want to rock it too,” Dilly Dilly told the Gazette.
After Dilly Dilly’s post, the community aped into the edit and got their primates Bathing Bored!
