'TENTPOLE ACTIVATION': Yuga Labs CEO Daniel Alegre Reaffirmed That An IRL Clubhouse Is Coming

As over 700 Bored Ape Yacht Club members gathered in the community Discord last night for the club’s first-ever town hall, Yuga Labs reaffirmed that a Miami based in-real-life clubhouse is in the works and that the community will be getting updates on its progress throughout the year!

On Saturday, Yuga Labs CEO Daniel Alegre gave BAYC members an update on the club’s highly anticipated in-real-life clubhouse that included a new animation of Curtis burning the midnight oil working on the venue’s vibe.

“Only BAYC can be crazy enough to build an IRL clubhouse,” Alegre said. “This is the tentpole activation that we are working on for BAYC and it will require input and engagement from all of you as we make this a reality. Jeff (Nicholas) will keep you updated on the progress throughout the year and as we speak, we are releasing a full little teaser on Twitter about the clubhouse.”

After the meeting, Apes were anything but bored to hear that the in real life clubhouse was coming.

“The Clubhouse will kick the BAYC social content into hyperdrive,” BAYC member and Coffee With Captain Co-Host, Chris Jourdan tweeted. “Gifs are powerful, but wait until we have ApeFest-esc pics and videos on the timeline daily & not talking all about parties, the builders building and member networking is going to bring in entrepreneurs from all walks of life and backgrounds.”

Alegre’s confirmation that the Clubhouse was in the works comes a day after Yuga Labs Co-Founder, Garga, assured the community that getting the BAYC an IRL Clubhouse is important to him.

“The clubhouse is a huge priority for me personally. And yeah it doesn't exist yet but it's a multi-million dollar project that I want to get right," he wrote.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the idea of the Yuga Labs building a real-life venue has been a part of the BAYC’s long-term plans for a while.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the BAYC first teased the project’s plan to build an in real life hangout for Apes in September 2022 when it released Roadmap 2.0

“Miami CLUBHOUSE (IRL),” the BAYC wrote on its roadmap at the time along with an image of Apes hanging around a tiki bar drinking.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Yuga Labs’ progress on its in real life clubhouse and will let you know how you can contribute throughout the year! Stay tuned for updates!
