The ApeCoin DAO Is Reviewing The Applications From Its ApeChain RFP. Here's What You Need To Know:

The ApeCoin DAO is another step closer to finding someone to build it an ApeChain after the window for companies, foundations, and individuals to submit their plans to the DAO’s Request For Proposal process closed last week!

After a 14-day submission period for the crypto world to ape into the DAO’s RFP process closed on January 11th, 2024, the DAO is currently reviewing the applications it received to make sure the applicants qualify, according to Special Council Member Waabam.

Once the DAO has reviewed the proposals, the DAO’s Administrator, WebSlinger, will publish the ApeChain ideas, and the community will be invited to ask questions and recommended changes to the authors.

From there will be either one or two rounds of voting on who will build the ApeCoin DAO’s ApeChain, depending on how many ApeChain proposals are submitted. The first vote is scheduled to take place from February 1st to February 7th, according to the RFP.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, following months of ApeChain conversations, and AIPs from Polygon Labs, Optimism, Arbitrum, and ZkSync to build it, WebSlinger, announced that it was  holding an RFP process and that everyone who wanted to build ApeChain for the DAO could apply on December 28th, 2023.

“The reason the Ape Foundation is doing this RFP is because of overwhelming community demands for a structured process with consolidated voting,” Special Council Member Waabam told the Gazette at the time. “This RFP creates a structured process with consolidated voting and a clear timeline.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow this RFP process and will let you know when the DAO publishes the proposals. Stay tuned for updates!
