The ApeCoin DAO Is Voting On An AIP That Could Cut The Special Council's Salaries In Half
For the second week in a row, the future ApeCoin DAO's Special Council Members' salaries are on the ballot, with this week’s proposal giving $Apes three options to choose from.
After the ApeCoin community rejected an AIP that aimed to cut future Special Council members' salaries in half last week, the DAO is now voting on another proposal addressing the community's concerns about Special Council members salaries.
AIP-350, titled 'Shaping Success: Building a Stronger Future with New Special Council Pay,' written by the current ApeCoin DAO Special Council Member, BoredApeG.
“To shape long-term success, our community needs to continuously attract top talent who are both aligned and effective at serving the vision of ApeCoin DAO,” BoredApeG wrote. “The ApeCoin community has indicated the desire for the opportunity to provide input on the appropriate payment for ApeCoin Special Council. This AIP would give the community that opportunity, by providing a number of possible payment options for the community to choose from.”
In his AIP, BoredApeG proposed three different future Special Council member salary options based on community feedback:
Option 1: 125k USD + 50k USD in $APE (calculated using $APE price on first day of SC term and vesting on the annual anniversary of such term)
Option 2: 125k USD
Option 3: None of the above (leave SC pay as is)
Currently, the ApeCoin DAO’s five Special Council members each receive a yearly salary of $249,996 USD per year.
Note, if the DAO chooses to change the Special Council members salaries, this will not impact the current office holders but will reduce the future salaries of those DAO Contributors who are elected this December 2023 and beyond.
The window to vote on AIP-350 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until next Wednesday, November 1st, to cast their coins and vote on this proposal.
