The BAYC Released More Information About The Upcoming Mobile Game Competition. Here's What We Know:
Updated: Feb 8, 2022
The Bored Ape Yacht Club released new information about the Apes Vs. Mutants mobile game competition.
BAYC Co-Founder Garagamel took to the club’s Discord this evening to give apes and mutants more information regarding the mobile game competition.
“First update. We decided 10 days is too long . . . **This is now a 7-day competition. **Did we really make a whole mobile game for it to only be playable for 7 days? Nah, there’s two games. There’s one for BAYC and one for MAYC,” he posted.
Registration for the mobile game will begin on Thursday December 2nd at noon EST. The registration window will remain open until December 4th at 11:59 p.m. EST, according to the club.
“Note that there’s no rush to register,” Gargamel wrote. “As long as you do so before registration closes on Saturday, you’ll be good.”
In order to get the passcode, apes and mutants will need to connect their MetaMask wallet to the site. This process is like how apes and mutants had to connect to the BAYC website for merch drops.
“Once you have your password, you’ll be able to click-through to a Shopify storefront, Gargamel wrote in the announcement. “**Once you use a passcode to enter into the Shopify storefront, you will not be able to use them to enter the site again.** Fill out your details on the Shopify site. **Most important is your email address.** For iOS users, you’ll be sent an email with a personalized link to download the game. Don’t share that link or you might end up shit out of luck. For Android users, we’ll e-mail you the link, but it’s the same for everyone.”
After apes and mutants have the game downloaded all apes have to do is wait for the game to go live on Sunday December 5th at 7 p.m. EST, according to the clubs post.
As the bored ape Gazette previously reported, the BAYC previously released a 33 second teaser trailer for the BAYC MAYC mobile game competition.
The mobile game trailer began with an M2 mutant serum on the screen and then it dives straight into the gameplay.
In the first sequence, we find a bored ape fighting a siege of enemies with bananas as they try to hit him with mice. The next sequence appears to show a mutant ape battling a rather large gold fur ape who is throwing bushels of bananas at him.
As the video goes on, we see pizza apes throwing pizza pies, M3 mutants shooting lasers into the area, among other things.
The teaser concluded with a still image of three bored apes and five mutants looking ready for battle.
The mobile competition was first teased back in September as the second part of the BAYC Roadmap 2.0.
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Mobile Game Competition and let you know when more information becomes available.
