Updated: Feb 8, 2022
The Bored Ape Yacht Club’s Apes Vs. Mutant’s mobile game competition is set to begin this evening and members have been slinging bananas and training for the event since yesterday evening.
The BAYC’s mobile game competition went live yesterday night in the Apple app store and the google Play store. While to contest doesn’t begin until this evening, some BAYC members have been practicing since the game went live.
“Gotta get my 10,000 hours in for training before the real game starts #BAYC vs #MAYC @BoredApeYC,” BAYC member ScottTheRobot tweeted.
The competition officially begins Friday 1/21 at 7 P.M. Est, according to the club. Once 7 P.M. comes, the game will prompt users to create an account.
“Note- anyone can play the game,” BAYC Co-Foudner Garga posted in the community Discord. “But only registered apes and mutants will be eligible for additional benefits- please see the terms for more details (emailed to registered apes and mutants when verifying email address).”
After 7 P.m., the competition will begin, and apes will begin slinging bananas for exclusive prizes.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Apes and Mutants are competing for some insane prizes ranging from Curtis plush toys and artisan bongs to a BAYC pinball machine and "The Mutant Mobile," AKA "a converted 2--2 Honda Accord decked out in MAYC regalia. Performance: NOT GREAT, SMELL: BAD," according to the club.
Since the game went live in the app store, BAYC members have been commenting on how fun and challenging the game is. “i got to level 9/10 on stage 2, BAYC member Greg pitpanther01 tweeted. “Yea the BAYC game is fun, but I am far too dumb to understand how to play it successfully lol.”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the mobile game competition and update you on the leaderboard throughout the contest.
I remember this one time, it was the grand 'Space Rangers' mobile game tournament. My pals and I had been practicing for weeks. We'd turned my basement into a makeshift gaming arena argentics, stocked up on energy drinks, snacks, you name it. The night before the tournament was intense. None of us could sleep, we were so amped up. And then the day came. We played our hearts out, and guess what? We actually ended up in the top three. What a rush that was!
