The Sandbox’s Alpha Season 3 is set to begin tomorrow, and Bored Apes will play a big role in the voxel metaverse.
The Sandbox plans to hold over 90 experiences over the next ten weeks for its Alpha Season 3 and the BAYC is one of the game’s 27 brand partners.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the BAYC was prominently displayed in the Sandbox’s Season 3 trailer video last week.
In the video, viewers are shown a large, pixelated building with the BAYC’s logo on the side as the words “DIVE INTO THE BORED APE EXPERIENCE” are seen at the bottom of the screen.
The next frame shows a pixelated version of a Bored Ape waiting on a bench.
After the trailer, the Bored Ape Gazette confirmed that the Sandbox’s Alpha Season 3 is connected to the BAYC’s Miami 2035 Roadmap objective.
Yesterday, the Sandbox updated the community and let BAYC members and several other NFT communities access the voxel versions of their NFTs.
“We are excited to develop new use cases for the owners of these collections, starting with digital identity and the ability to create the worlds for these NFTs to be played with and evolve,” Sandbox Co-Founder and COO, Sébastien Borget said in a press release. “Together with the most creative and engaged Web3 communities, we have a chance to define open metaverse culture and shape the future of our social interactions.”
While there is still a lot we do not know about the Sandbox’s Season 3, we do know that the Sandbox will be rewarding participants.
“This season, discover a new system that will ensure that you are rewarded for being a supporter of our project,” the Sandbox stated in a press release. “With rewards if you hold a specific NFT for the duration of the season, rest assured that you will be rewarded with some SAND. When completing a level, LAND Owners, Avatar Holders and NFT collector users will unlock SAND rewards, even without an Alpha Pass!”
