The Window For Voyagers To Claim Their Vessels And Decouple Their Kodas Opens Tonight

The window for Voyagers to claim their Vessels and decouple their Kodas is set to open in less than one hour!

"Koda Decoupling & Vessel claim will be going live in approximately 1 hour at https://lotm.otherside.xyz," Yuga Labs tweeted from its OthersideMeta account. "Only Otherdeeds with Koda can Decouple, but all Otherdeeds can claim a Vessel."

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, while Voyagers claim their Otherdeeds’ Vessels starting tonight, they will also be burning their current Otherdeeds for Yuga Labs’ new dynamic Otherdeed collection dubbed “Otherdeed Expanded.”

“Otherdeed Expanded is your key to unlocking future gameplay experiences and activations, including Otherside: Legends of the Mara,” Yuga Labs wrote in a press release earlier this week. “Otherside will be best experienced using dynamic NFTs that can change over time. The new smart contract will offer Voyagers who choose to burn their original Otherdeed NFT access to Yuga’s new gaming experiences and activations outside of Otherside (the game). Two key components of Legends of the Mara are the use of Otherside Koda NFTs and Otherside Vessel NFTs, which will be integral pieces to playing the game. Throughout the course of gameplay, there will be opportunities to earn new entitlements, upgrade existing entitlements, and evolve entitlements earned, which we’ll learn more about closer to the release date of Legends of the Mara.”

Following the decoupling and Vessel claim, Voyagers will have up to three unique NFTs in their Wallets; an Otherdeed, a Vessel, and a Koda if they had one to decouple, based on this image from Yuga Labs' claim page.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, every Voyager will get to claim one Vessel per Otherdeed they hold. Further these Vessels play a critical role in Yuga Labs’ Legends of The Mara experience later this year.

The Vessels that Voyagers eventually claim will either be a Hunting, Farming, or Enchanting type, according to Yuga Labs.

“A Vessel, which premiered at the end of the Bone Deed trailer, is a meteor capable of supporting a Shade, and can be used in the defense of the Otherside,” Yuga Labs wrote on its FAQ page.

After Voyagers claim their Vessels, the meteor will undergo an incubation period. After that, the Vessel will reveal a “Mara.”

"A Mara is an otherworldly creature that emerges from a Vessel," Yuga Labs wrote on its FAQ page. “They are nascent workers able to perform only simple tasks. The three different types of Mara that will emerge from the Vessels will match their Vessel’s role: Farmer, Hunter, or Enchanter. Maras will be ERC-721 tokens separate from Vessels, with a new contract/NFT collection. Maras will be able to be purchased and sold via trading platforms once they’ve emerged from their Vessels as a new collection.”

While we do not know much about the Legends of the Mara game, we do know that it will “be driven by the celestial Odiac and is a persistent 2D experience that will allow you to evolve your Mara into Kodamara, farm sediment, and defend your Otherdeed from emerging threats," according to Yuga Labs.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Vessel claim and Koda decoupling tonight. Stay tuned for updates!
