The Window To Nominate Yourself For The $Ape Discourse Team Is Open. Find Out More About The Role
As the ApeCoin DAO accepts nominations for its newly formed community Discourse team, Working Group Zero Steward and former Discourse Moderator, RedVulkan, took to Twitter and explained what the position entails!
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the ApeCoin DAO passed Ape Improvement Proposal-240 last week which established the creation of a three-person Discourse Facilitator team.
This team will be responsible for “overseeing the proposal process, moderating discussions, enforcing rules, and promoting positive community engagement based on DAO-approved guidelines,” according to AIP-240. Each Discourse team member will earn $8,000 USD per month for three months.
As a result of AIP-240’s approval, the first member of the new Discourse Facilitator team will be ApeCoin DAO Contributor Lost AKA TheHodlrCollective and the two other Discourse Facilitator team members will be elected by the community in May.
As $Ape holders began to throw their hats in the ring for this election earlier this week, RedVulkan, who has been acting as one of the ApeCoin DAO’s Discourse Moderators for the past few months, took to Twitter and shared his thoughts on the Facilitator team and what it takes to do this job well.
“I wanted to share what this role entails and my experience in it over the past couple months,” Vulkan tweeted on April 27th. “First off, this has been a very time-intensive role. Of course, the amount of time each person is willing to put into this varies. @0xAmplify, @HodlrCollective
and myself have put in countless hours at all times of day to be as responsive as we have been and cut the average AIP Draft process in half.”
Vulkan went on to tweet that he believed that the ideal candidate for the Discourse Facilitator team will not only have a good amount of knowledge on the AIP process but also they would have an interest in the finer details of DAO governance.
“Amplify, Lost and myself have held weekly meetings between us three for coordination and use a Project Management tool to track the statuses of each AIP," Vulkan wrote. “Facilitators are also tasked with writing DAR reports What is a DAR you might ask? It stands for Draft & Analysis Report and is the combination of the AIP Draft (submitted by the author) and the AIP Analysis Report (created by the Facilitator). This is definitely the most time-intensive responsibility of a Facilitator.”
