This Checks Out!

On Monday, NFT collector and HV-MTL owner Adam Weitsman announced that he had enlisted Visualize Value founder and Web3 artist Jack Butcher as the second artist to create something extraordi-Normies!

“Honored to have legendary artist  @jackbutcher agree to develop this epic @normiesART 1/1 canvas created from burning 95 Normies NFT’s to form this grail masterpiece,” he tweeted. “This is the second in a series of special commissions by some of the absolute finest web3 artists. I want to show the world the creative genius of founder  @serc1n in its most amazing light……”

This collaboration brings things full circle.

Just months ago, Normies founder Serc joined Butcher's Opepen project, which invites artists and creators from across Web3 to put their own spin on a geometric Pepe the Frog.

Tonight, anyone and everyone can see Weitsman's new Butcher created Normie, Normie #4698, hanging in his main wallet, AdamWeitsmanGallery.

This 1/1 Normie created by one of Web3's most recognizable artists is the second pixelated masterpiece that Weitsman has commissioned using the project's burn and change mechanic.

As the Gazette previously reported in March, Weitsman burned 50 Normies to create a 1/1 piece dubbed "Skelemoon" in collaboration with artist A.C.K.

Looking ahead, Weitsman plans to enlist two more artists to reimagine his original collection of more than 350 Normies however they see fit because, in his view, it's "more epic and fun" that way.

The Gazette will continue to follow Weitsman's initiative and will let you know which artists he partners with and what they create as the remaining masterworks come onchain. Stay tuned for updates!
