Halfbaycd is an NFT project that is minting this weekend that wants to give Yuga Labs NFT holders the ability to license their apes to cannabis packaging.
“We're excited to be bringing a new licensing opportunity to the space and an ability to generate passive income for assets that are otherwise just sitting in wallets, Halfbaycd wrote in a Twitter thread Friday afternoon. “We look forward to the journey ahead and hope you have as much fun with it as we will.”

1: What is halfbaycd? How’d you come up with it?
“Half BAYCD is a web3 cannabis brand allowing Yuga asset holders to license their IP to packaging in 12 states and 3 countries.”
2: How does the project work?
“We will be minting 6969 passes at .069 eth, each pass will allow you to license one asset — BAYC, MAYC, BAKC, and Koda are eligible.”
3: How can BAYC members get involved?
“BAYC members are able to license their assets by being a pass holder or by partnering with a pass holder and generating a rev share agreement.”
4: How can apes get their image on weed packaging?
“By pairing their asset with a pass or pass holder, they’ll be added to queue to be used on packaging. One of our trait rarities is the Pack Pass which guarantees the asset will be used on packaging, so anyone that is interested in ensuring their asset is used this is the pass that they want. All licensees are paid whether the asset is in use at the time or not.”
5: where will these be sold? And what’s the licensing deal look like with the apes on the package?
“Initial launch locations are Los Angeles, Vegas, Denver, and NYC — we will be expanding within the first production quarter to some of the additional states we have licensed partners in. A total of 50% of net profits will be distributed amongst pass holders that license IP, 30% will be evenly distributed amongst all pass holders with three exceptions: Pack Pass: 420 holders will have the Pack Pass, which has its own 10% allocation for even distribution amongst the 420 Investor Pass: 100 holders will have the Investor Pass, which has its own 10% allocation for even distribution amongst the 100 Pheno Pass: 10 holders will have the Phone Pass, these holders will pheno hunt for their own genetics and license the strain back to us.”
6: Is there anything else you’d like to add or say?
“Our mission is to be the first web3 centric cannabis company, tapping directly into our community to help build and curate the brand and enable us to properly bring cannabis brands into the web3 space. We are trying to pave the way for future IP based projects to show asset holders how to begin monetizing them for passive income, and we’re excited to be one of the market leaders in IP licensing projects.”
