VOTE FOR PEOPLE POWERED POSITIVITY: Del Mundo Holders Head To The Polls To Decide Which Charity Will Receive More Than $15K, And Get Rewarded For Doing So!

Real world change is happening onchain this week as Del Mundo holders head to the polls to decide where more than $15,000 will be donated, and they’ll even be rewarded for casting their votes!

Seven months after Ray Del Mundo made his way from the metaverse to our world, he and Squirrell are ready to make their presence felt here, with $15,192.93 USD waiting to be donated to amongst three different charities through their new CLIMETA initiative!

 

“If you have a Del Mundo NFT, now is the time to use it,” the project’s Co-Founder Charlie Del Mundo tweeted. “Head to CLIMETA (. io) and cast your vote in the first ever treasury governance execution. Blockchain meets real world positivity.”

 

 

As the Gazette previously reported, CLIMETA is a central part of the Del Mundos’ “art meets impact” flywheel that was first announced earlier this year.

 

Since then, the project has raised thousands of dollars through its March Editions silver necklace drop and its recent OpenSea open edition NFT mint. Now, it’s up to holders to decide how those funds are spent and where their collective impact will be made!

“This first vote is an important milestone,” the Del Mundos tweeted. “It marks the completion of our Proof of Concept, testing the full underlying technology and mechanics behind CLIMETA in a live environment. At this stage, both the Nature Treasury and Rewards Pool are relatively small. The voter rewards in this first round will therefore be nominal, the goal isn't their monetary value yet, but to demonstrate that the system works end-to-end.”

Ashden, which nurtures climate action rooted in local communities across the Global South and the UK.

Conservation Collective, which supports grassroots initiatives to protect the environment, restore nature and safeguard against climate change.

 

Gálapagos Conservancy, the leading US based nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring iconic species and ecosystems across the Galápagos Islands.

 

These Clim3ta votes are not winner take all! After the polls close, the funds will be divided proportionally acorss these three charites however the community saw fit, accoridng to Del Mundos Co-Founder Charlie.

 

By taking part in this week’s vote, Del Mundo holders won’t just have a chance to make a real world impact, they’ll get rewarded for doing it, too! So it’s in every holder’s interest to turn up, cast a vote, and help spread some people powered positivity!
