Are you ready to break on through to the Otherside again? Yuga Labs announced that its highly anticipated 2nd trip to the company’s metaverse will be taking place on Saturday, March 25th!
“2nd Trip will bring Voyagers into Otherside for an interactive gaming experience led by our first ever Otherside Team Captains,” Yuga Labs tweeted from its OthersideMeta account. “Details on Team Captains will be shared at a later date. Otherdeed holders will also have the opportunity to invite a guest into 2nd Trip. Otherdeed holders will have priority access. Guest passes are not guaranteed entry. We are also expanding the playable region list from First Trip, allowing more Voyagers from around the globe to participate in the event. Everybody is invited to watch along on our official livestream.”
Along with getting to experience the Otherside on the 25th, Voyagers who attend the 2nd trip will be able to obtain the First Trip Obelisk Metadata update on their Otherdeeds that Voyagers who attended last summer’s first trip received.
“As communicated on Twitter and by the Community Team, Voyagers who attend 2nd Trip WILL be eligible to earn the FIRST TRIP Obelisk Piece. All Otherdeeds held in the connecting wallet will receive this metadata update. If you received the FIRST TRIP Obelisk piece on your Otherdeed already, there will be no change in metadata. We will continue to support Voyagers in their journey by allowing Voyagers to obtain their FIRST TRIP Obelisk piece for future activations beyond 2nd Trip.”
The First Trip Obelisk piece is the first part of the eleven-part story dubbed “The Voyager’s Journey,” according to Otherside.XYZ.
“All Voyagers are invited to take part in Voyager’s Journey, an 11-part storyline surrounding a mysterious Obelisk that has appeared in the Otherside universe,” Yuga Labs wrote in its Otherside Litepaper last summer. “Team up with other Voyagers, develop your own experiences on your slice of the Otherside, and discover and shape what can be harvested, crafted, traded, bought, and sold. Voyagers will play a large role in shaping the core capabilities of the platform through exclusive events, playtesting opportunities, and as co-developers of our Otherside Development Kits (ODKs).”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs first teased its March 2023 2nd trip on December 22nd with an Otherside teaser trailer; featuring. Curtis, a Voyager Robot and “Blue” (the Koda from the First Trip) traveling across Otherdeed #9353.
“There will be new environments, new mechanics, and an even higher concurrency of users than what we all experienced in First Trip,” Yuga Labs wrote. “Second Trip will be a huge step for Otherside and will be more gamified and high energy. The introduction of these new spaces and mechanics will make for a far richer experience and enable the space to open much more frequently. Customizable avatars will not be ready yet for Second Trip, but there’s a fun solution for those who want to enter with an NFT. Stay tuned for details on that. Also, there might be flying.
