Yuga Labs' Captain Gave The Order For A New Copy Pasta After He Purchased A Captain Bored Ape

Yuga Labs’ new Chief Executive Officer is the captain now and his first order of business was a new copy pasta!

On Wednesday, Bored Ape Yacht club member and Yuga Labs’ CEO, Daniel Alegre, purchased Bored Ape #3575 for 50 Eth or $93,585 USD.

Bored Ape #3575 is a six-trait dark brown fur primate with a black tee, scumbag glasses, and a Sea Captain’s Hat. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #3575 is the 7987th most rare ape, according to Rarity Tools.

“To my kids: meet a new member of the family,” Alegre tweeted. “Proud to Ape into BAYC #3575. Does #ApeFollowApe still work?”

Following Alegre’s post, Apes took to Twitter and began copying Alegre’s tweet and reintroducing their primates to the community.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs announced that Alegre, who used to be the Chief Operating Officer of Activision Blizzard, would be joining the swamp as the company’s new CEO in December 2022.

At the time, Yuga Labs’ Co-Founder, Garga, said that Alegre was right the person to help the company compete with giants in the metaverse space.

“When it comes to the metaverse we’re competing with giants,” Garga wrote in a press release after the company announced that Alegre would be joining the swamp. “In order to catapult Otherside and our other ambitious projects to new heights, we’ve known for a long time we wanted to bring in someone with a proven track record of building at the highest possible level.”

Alegre officially started his job as Yuga Labs’ CEO on April first 2023.
