Yuga Labs' Next CEO Starts Tomorrow. Here's Why Yuga Labs Hired Him:

Yuga Labs’ next CEO is set to officially ape into his new job this weekend!

On Friday, President and COO of Activision Blizzard, Daniel Alegre, took to Twitter and announced that he will be starting his new job at Yuga Labs tomorrow.

“Today is my last day as President and COO of Activision Blizzard,” Alegre tweeted. “Thank you to the incredible teams who create truly epic games. Tomorrow I officially start at CEO of Yuga Labs. Couldn't be more excited for this next chapter.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs first announced that Alegre would be taking over as the company’s CEO in mid 2023 in a December 2022 press release.

In that press release, Yuga Labs Co-Founder Garga said that Alegre was joining the Yuga Labs team to help the company compete with “giants” in the metaverse space.

“When it comes to the metaverse we’re competing with giants,” Garga wrote on December 19th, 2022. “In order to catapult Otherside and our other ambitious projects to new heights, we’ve known for a long time we wanted to bring in someone with a proven track record of building at the highest possible level. Knowing this, Nicole, Wylie, and I have been on the hunt for the right candidate. Our search led us to Daniel Alegre who will become Yuga Labs’ new CEO in the first half of 2023. Daniel is a seasoned, visionary executive who shares our passion for innovation and creativity.”
