Yuga Labs Released New Information About This Weekend's Otherside First Trip. What You Need To Know:
As Otherdeed holders prepare for the “First Trip” on July 16th, Yuga Labs released new information about the upcoming expedition.
Othersidemeta, Yuga Labs’ official Otherside Twitter account, released a thread that detailed what users can expect during Saturday’s highly anticipated First Trip.
“Voyagers, we’re excited for the First Trip tech demo this Saturday, 7/16 at noon ET,” Othersidemeta tweeted. “As the name implies, this demo is designed to show off the technical capabilities of the Otherside platform. Here’s a peek at what you can expect during the event:
Thousands of users simultaneously interacting in the same space - all through a Chrome web browser. An immersive play area created just for this demo, for users to explore. Realistic, real-time voice chat and spatial audio built to handle large crowds. The first look at our 3D, hi-res Voyager prototypes that can walk, run, jump, and emote. A private, tokengated livestream available to Voyagers worldwide.”
Yuga Labs announcement today lines up well with what the company has previously told users about the highly anticipated metaverse.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs has described the First Trip as “The first tech demo of the Otherside, for Voyagers only. A celebration of what’s to come and an opportunity for Voyagers to gather, explore, and plan,” according to the Otherside's website.
Further, Yuga Labs also previously shared a sneak peek of the first tech demo earlier this summer.
“And here’s a sneak peak of the First Trip, the tech demo from @Improbableio,” OthersideMeta tweeted on May 11th along with a 36 second clip. “Can’t wait to share the experience with you."
In preparation for this weekend’s First Trip, Yuga Labs and Improbable, the gaming company working with Yuga to make the Otherside a reality, held two load tests to ensure that the Otherisde is ready for this Saturday’s excursion.
During the most recent load test, Otherdeed holders played a game where they categorized themselves by age, gaming experience and their Otherside goals. During that time, thousands of players ran from point to point to group up with others who made the same answer choices.
As the load test continued, Yuga Labs and Improbable, analyzed the in-game voice chat feature and asked the community to repeat words and phrases as a group.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Otherisde and will be taking part in this weekend's First Trip. Stay tuned for updates!
