YUGE: President Donald Trump's Media & Technology Group Adds 451 Bitcoin Worth $40 Million To Its Portfolio

Financial FUD. Talk of a possible war with Venezuela and ongoing affordability concerns in the United States don’t appear to be slowing down President Donald Trump’s bullish stance on Bitcoin.

On Monday, Trump Media & Technology Group announced that it added 451 Bitcoin, worth approximately $40.3 million, to its corporate portfolio.

With this purchase, Trump Media & Technology Group now reportedly holds 11,542 Bitcoin, alongside ownership of the president’s social media platform Truth Social, and a recently announced merger with nuclear fusion company TAE Technologies.

For the Trump Media & Technology team, investments in Bitcoin, social media infrastructure, and fusion energy all appear to be part of a broader bet on the future of the United States.

“Trump Media & Technology Group built uncancellable infrastructure to secure free expression online for Americans, and now we’re taking a big step forward toward a revolutionary technology that will cement America’s global energy dominance for generations,”TMTG Chairman and CEO Devin Nunes said in a rpess release earlier this week. “Fusion power will be the most dramatic energy breakthrough since the onset of commercial nuclear energy in the 1950s—an innovation that will lower energy prices, boost supply, ensure America’s A.I.-supremacy, revive our manufacturing base and bolster national defense. TMTG brings the capital and public market access to quickly move TAE’s proven technology to commercial viability.” 

Since running for office in 2024, Trump has leaned heavily into a pro-crypto message, calling himself the “crypto president.” He has previously stated that he will “ensure that the future of crypto and #Bitcoin is shaped in the USA,” while also pledging to “support the right to self-custody for the nation’s fifty million crypto holders” during remarks at the Libertarian National Convention last year.
