Zero Knowledge Games And Projects Are Coming To ApeChain Thanks To zkVerify! Here's What You Need To Know:

ApeChain is on its way to becoming a gaming hub after zkVerify announced zero-knowledge projects and games will be able to be built and verified on $Ape.

As the Horizen Labs Offchain Labs and Arbitrum team prepares to launch ApeChain in Arbitrum's orbit chains later this month, zkVerify announced that developers can now build zero knowledge games like poker and blackjack on ApeChain.

 

“ICYMI: zkVerify is LIVE on ApeChain(home of @apecoin),” the protocol announced earlier this week. “zk projects now have the ability to build natively on ApeChain and leverage the power of zk proofs to create unique gaming experiences”

 

 

Zero-Knowledge Proof assetations are important because they allow players to keep their cards close to their chest while also verifying on the blockchain that the game is fair and being played correctly.

 

“so for the average $ape user this means that developers can bring games to ApeChain that take advantage of zero knowledge,” Hoirzen Labs’ VP of Ecosytem Growth Blockchainzilla said. “For example, fully on-chain shuffled card games, fog of war games, and hidden prediction markets. It vastly expands what's possible on the chain. We're working towards bringing on developers who are interested in taking advantage of this functionality from our side”

While this backend zero-knowledge verification can be a bit wonky and hard to grasp, the important thing for $Ape holders to know is that this integration will make the ApeCoin DAO’s goal of turning ApeChain into an amusement park filled with games and degenerate activities, all denominated in $Ape, a reality!

“zkVerify sending ZK Proof attestations to ApeChain is a super exciting development because it makes the chain extremely attractive to ZK games (and ZK apps in general),” Horizen Labs’ Strategic Partnership Lead Alejandro told the Gazette. “One of the biggest roadblocks ZK based games face is the extremely high cost and slow finality of verifying proofs. zkVerify’s native rust verifiers make the cost of verifying ZK Proofs extremely cheap, and by attesting to ApeChain, it extends these savings to ApeChain builders. Imagine ApeChain now being able to have ZK card based games like poker and black jack, turn based games like Battleship, or other advanced strategy games that need fog of war features and the like. These all require selective disclosure mechanisms that ZK proofs make possible. All of this to say, it’s another step in making ApeChain a major gaming hub!”
