A CLUTCH MOVE!: ApeCoin Hires Clutch Markets Founder 0xSimpleFarmer As Head Of DeFi

On Tuesday, the home of NFTs got itself a spot in the decentralized finance district after it was announced that Clutch Markets founder and prolific ApeChain builder 0xSimpleFarmer joined the ApeCoin team last week with the goal of bringing DeFi opportunities to the token and making sure every $APE and Ape can ape in!

“Honored to step into the role of Head of DeFi at ApeChain,” 0xSimpleFarmer tweeted this morning. “My focus is simple: help expand the utility of $APE across all of crypto. That means integrating the most efficient, battle-tested DeFi products to unlock high-yield passive income streams for the community. Beyond building I’m here to help. My goal is to make it easy for everyone to add new tools to their kit, and learn the clever things you can actually do with your $APE. Not just holding, but using. Not just farming, but understanding how it works.”

 

 

0xSimpleFarmer is no stranger to the ApeChain ecosystem. Back in May, he launched Clutch Markets and its accompanying NFT project, Clutch Puppies, on ApeChain, inviting everyone to place parlays on sports, crypto, and politics.

Since then, he has rolled out several community activations, including Ape69, a game that lets Clutch Puppies holders bet on whether the price of crypto will be higher or lower 69 seconds from now, and Secret Santa Protocol, which invites players to swap their floor NFTs for something new.

0xSimpleFarmer’s Clutch Markets and Ape Predicts platforms were also featured dApps in ApeCoin’s second season of Spotlight, which saw more than 30,000 transactions and $500,000 worth of bets placed in just two weeks.

 

Tonight, 0xSimpleFarmer told the Gazette he’s already been in talks with several projects since starting the job last week and can’t wait to make ApeChain the place for DeFi and attract even more people to the chain.

“When $ape wins we all win,” he said. “This opportunity presented itself and I think it made a lot of sense on both sides , we already have protocols we are in the process of integrating since I started last week however development of $apecoin isn’t limited to new protocols , this is about increasing visibility utility and exposure for $ape across all of crypto and making sure that when users ape in they can put their funds to work , My goal is to make it make sense for all kinds of investors.”
