A COMFY COME UP: Haikal's Otherside Koda Plushie Purchase Turned Into A $500 Pokémon Card Pull!

Sometimes the biggest wins in crypto come when you're comfy in plush!

On Wednesday, Haikal, who describes himself as someone with "no alpha, just vibes & pain" and "living off failed mints and copium," discovered that he had been airdropped a free $25 Pokémon pack on Phygitals simply because he bought one of Yuga Labs' first ever Otherside Koda Plushies earlier this month.

When he first heard the news, Haikal wasn't expecting much. In fact, he'd never opened a Phygitals pack or played a Gacha game before. Still, he was curious to see what all the hype was about.

“Honestly, I wasn’t expecting anything at all,” he said. “I only opened the free Rookie Pack for fun because I still happened to hold one Koda Plushie. Then suddenly, I pulled a Mythic card worth around $500.”

 

The card was a 1999 Japanese Exeggutor Promo graded PSA 9 and was literally one of the best cards someone could pull from a $25 Rookie Pack.

“I was so shocked that I literally started dancing by myself in my room lol,” he said. “I’ve always liked Pokemon, so getting a pull like that from a free pack felt completely unreal…. somehow my very first pull ended up being the crazy one lol.”

 

Haikal later sold the card back to Phygitals for roughly $500 and he couldn't be happier!

 

“Definitely one of the luckiest and most memorable pulls I’ve ever had. I’m also really grateful to Figge for giving Koda holders this airdrop,” he said. “It turned a random free pull into one of the luckiest and most memorable moments I’ve had in Web3.”
