'A CULT CLASSIC' : The Bored Ape Yacht Club Announced That ApeFest 2024 Will Be Taking Place In Lisbon Portugal From October 18-20

Bored Ape Yacht Club Members are readying the bow, swabbing the poop deck, and charting a course for Lisbon, Portugal, after Yuga Labs announced that its fourth annual ApeFest will be taking place in the 'City of Seven Hills'.

A week after the BAYC announced that ApeFest 2024 was happening in Lisbon, Portugal, this October, the club announced that this year’s ApeFest will be a three-day event from Friday, October 18th, to Sunday, October 20th.

“ApeFest Lisbon | Oct 18-20,” the BAYC tweeted along with a Sardine can animation featuring Curtis on a sailboat.

BAYC members can expect great weather for ApeFest 2024. The average temperature in Lisbon in October is a high of 73 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 59 degrees Fahrenheit, according to Google.

For those who are unfamiliar with Lisbon, it is the capital of Portugal located in western Europe and is known for its seven hills, giving it the nickname 'City of Seven Hills.' Lisbon is also located on the northern shore of the Tagus River. Take a look at Lisbon below:

As Apes start to book their tickets and check out hotels, take a look at the Gazette’s recent interview with Portugal Primate and Co-Founder of Zharta Finance, Nun0x, and learn more about the sights, restaurants, and culture that Lisbon has to offer:

1. What should Apes know about Lisbon before attending ApeFest 2024?

“Lisbon is a vibrant capital, and almost everyone speaks English. Avoid the tourist spots and try the less beaten path; it will not disappoint. An interesting alpha: it's super cheap to take an Uber to Caparica Beach.”

 2. What are the must see sites?

“Principe Real, Belém, Castelo São Jorge.”

 3. What are some must try restaurants or dishes?

“Ramiro is a must; If you want a local experience with chicken piri-piri the "Valenciana" is a great spot; Foods to try: Caldo Verde (traditional soup); Cod à brás; "Um bitoque", a traditional steak with an egg on top with fries.”

 4. How is the nightlife in Lisbon?

“It is fantastic; you can drink freely in the street, and everyone gathers around "Santos," near Pink Street and in Bairro Alto (close to Baixa-Chiado). For clubbing, there are lots of clubs near the river, with LUX being the most iconic.”

5. Is Lisbon 420 friendly?

“Yes :)”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow all things ApeFest 2024 and will let you know when the BAYC makes its next boring announcement. Stay tuned for updates!
