A K-pop star has joined the Bored Ape Yacht Club, according to MachiBigBrother, but we still don’t know who they are… yet.
It’s a Monday mystery around the swamp after an anonymous user named “Filmstar,” with a brand new wallet loaded with nearly $2 million worth of Ethereum, purchased not one, but two Bored Apes late last night.

Shortly after Filmstar’s pickups, longtime BAYC member and former member of the Taiwanese hip-hop group L.A. Boyz, MachiBigBrother, tweeted that the buyer is a K-pop star. But instead of revealing who it is, he wants the community to guess.
“Guess which kpop star just became an ape,” he tweeted along with a photo of FilmStar’s new primate, Bored Ape #9339.
Today, Apes across the timeline have been sharing their best guesses about who it could be.
Longtime BAYC member JBond even wrote up multiple posts making a case for why it could be Lee Min-ho or G-Dragon. Take a look at his research below.
As of now, the mystery remains unsolved. The Gazette reached out to Machi for comment, but he did not respond.
As the Gazette previously reported, MachiBigBrother has helped onboard some of the biggest stars in the world into the best club on the internet.
Back in 2022, he onboarded singer-songwriter JJ Lin to the club, who went on to create a Made By Apes brand dubbed SMG: Still Moving Under Gunfire, launching a line of clothing featuring his primate, Bored Ape #3914.
