A TOUCH OF GOLD: BAYC Member Ed Purchased A Gold On Gold On Gold Mutant Ape For 8.9 Eth, Or $17K!

Bored Ape Yacht Club member Ed has been making waves around the swamp in recent weeks, picking up primates for members of his family. But earlier today, he decided it was time to treat himself to something shiny that he plans to turn into a real life work of art.

On Thursday, Ed purchased a gold on gold Mutant Ape featuring fur made of gold coins, gold coin eyes, and a gold grin mouth for 8.9 ETH, or $17,100 USD.

 

After the purchase, Ed told the Gazette that he's in the process of turning his JPEGs into physical artwork and felt his home decor was missing a little Midas touch.

“I felt like the house decor was missing a touch of gold so I had to ape into the gold mutant,” he said. “’I’m turning all the apes into physical art and I’m just waiting for the NFT frames to arrive so I can hang them around the house.”

As the Gazette previously reported, Ed has been on a shopping spree in recent weeks, picking up grails and high end Bored Apes for members of his family. He purchased a Death Bot Ape for his wife, a hip hop Ape for his dad, and a spacesuit wearing Ape for his mom.

“The fam is set,” he told the paper!

Tonight we do not know if Ed plans to keep purchaisng primates, but he has recently said that he's always open to adding another one if the right Ape catches his eye.

“Will this be the beginning of a collection? Maybe,” he said after buying his Trippy Fur Ape earlier this month. “Will this be the only ape I own? Maybe. Will see how it goes. I don’t wanna force anything or come to any conclusions today. Time will tell. P.S. I’m a huge believer in $APE. HODL all day every day”
