Animoca Brands Is Working With Yuga Labs On The Legends Of The Mara& Teased More Games In The Future

Animoca Brands kicked off the week by announcing that they worked with Yuga Labs to develop the Legends of the Mara game and teased more Yuga centric games in the future.

“And now the story continues,” the Web3 gaming company tweeted. “Animoca Brands is proud to support @yugalabs in the development of Legends of the Mara, the first standalone gaming experience powered by @apecoin. We can't wait to see how Blue's adventure unfolds.”

Following this tweet, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Animoca Brands Chairman, Yat Siu, to find out more about his company’s partnership with Yuga Labs and asked if the Legends of the Mara game was the play to earn BAYC themed game that Animoca Brands first teased in December 2021.

“I can confirm that this is a different game,” Siu told the Gazette. “We are excited about our partnership with Yuga and are committed on continuing to contribute to the Ape ecosystem as a whole including more content and games.”

The window for Voyagers to burn their Otherdeeds for a new Otherdeed Expanded NFT, along with claiming their Vessels and decoupling their Kodas, is set to open later this week.

“Otherdeed Expanded is your key to unlocking future gameplay experiences and activations, including Otherside: Legends of the Mara,” Yuga Labs wrote in a press release today. “Otherside will be best experienced using dynamic NFTs that can change over time. The new smart contract will offer Voyagers who choose to burn their original Otherdeed NFT access to Yuga’s new gaming experiences and activations outside of Otherside (the game). Two key components of Legends of the Mara are the use of Otherside Koda NFTs and Otherside Vessel NFTs, which will be integral pieces to playing the game. Throughout the course of gameplay, there will be opportunities to earn new entitlements, upgrade existing entitlements, and evolve entitlements earned, which we’ll learn more about closer to the release date of Legends of the Mara.”
