APES, CHECK YOUR EMAILS: The BAYC Has Notified Winners Of Its 5th Anniversary Cigar Box Raffle!

Things are anything but boring around the swamp this weekend after Yuga Labs notified 50 primates that they had been selected for the opportunity to purchase one of the Bored Ape Yacht Club's limited edition fifth anniversary cigar sets.

“Emails have been sent,” Yuga labs’ Head Engineer James Hall tweeted.

 

 

As the Gazette previously reported, the BAYC teamed up with Scandinavian Tobacco Group to create a custom collector's cigar box and curate a sampler set inspired by the club's five year history.

 

Unlike previous drops that required everyone to ape in at a specific time, this cigar collaboration used Yuga Labs' new weighted raffle system, with winners selected based in part on what they hold and how long they have held it.

Last week, Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge explained the thinking behind the new approach and the goal of getting collectibles into the hands of collectors!

 

“In an effort for OGs to get preferential access to limited drops we're going to put weights on this raffle,” Yuga Labs CEO Micahel Figge tweeted last week. “What you hold should matter, and hold time should matter.”

 

Tonight, Apes should check their inboxes to see if they were selected for the opportunity to purchase one of the club's limited edition fifth anniversary cigar sets.

Winners have until June 18 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time to complete their purchases and buy their cigar boxes for $120 USD plus shipping, according to Yuga Labs.
