ARTIST ANNOUNCED: Garga Told The Community Who The TwelveFold Artist Is; It Rhymes With Schmigge
Yuga Labs Co-Founder Garga answered a question that many in the Web3 space have had since the company announced its Bitcoin based generative art project earlier this week; who is the artist?
On Monday, Yuga Labs announced its new Bitcoin based generative art collection dubbed “TwevleFold” and originally said that the art was “crafted in-house by Yuga Labs’ art team using 3D modeling, algorithmic construction, and high-end rendering tools.”
Upon further questioning by community members, Garga told the space that the TwelveFold artist's name rhymes with "shmigge."
“The artist is the person behind the BAYC's OG 3D atelier and his name rhymes with shmigge,” Garga tweeted.
This artist whose name rhymes with “shmigge” is Yuga Labs’ Chief Content Officer and co-founder of 10KTF Michael Figge.
After Garga revealed that Figge is the artist behind the TwelveFold project, many community members took to Twitter to congratulate the artist on his new collection.
“When I first saw @yugalabs new twelvefold pieces I thought they looked super cool, “Wagmi_San’s_Intern tweeted. “Then I found out the artist is @mfigge this guy doesn’t miss first 10ktf now this.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Garga wrote that “Twelvefold is a base 12 art system localized around a 12x12 grid, a visual allegory for the cartography of data on the Bitcoin blockchain. The collection includes highly-rendered 3D elements as well as hand-drawn features which serve as an homage to the ordinal inscriptions currently done by hand. All of these choices are a departure from what’s expected from Yuga. But, you know. Fuck doing expected things.”
Yuga Labs will be auctioning off the 300 Twelvefold generative art pieces later this week. For more information on the Twelvefold project, check out Yuga Labs' new website here: https://twelvefold.io
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Twelvefold auction and will let you know when Yuga Labs releases more information. Stay tuned for updates!
