BMW isn’t waiting outside the Bored Ape Yacht Club anymore!

Over the weekend, Yuga Labs CEO Garga announced that the 108-year-old automaker had officially joined the best club on the internet after three straight years of sponsoring ApeFest!

“BMW took another huge step this evening to align themselves with BAYC, they’re one of us now,” Garga said during his keynote speech at ApeFest. “Meet Max.”

Garga then played a never before seen video featuring Max and the Club’s mascot Curtis driving down the street together.

To celebrate the brand joining the club, BMW set up an all new Bored Ape Bimmer Club display at ApeFest 2025,  complete with cars community members could ape into, banners of Max rocking this year’s BAYC × BMW merch, and BAYC member Pauser live painting a custom BAYC × BMW luggage collection, which looked absolutely insane!

“This collabo is definitely one of the coolest projects I’ve ever done,” Pauser told the paper. “Not just ‘cause it’s BMW and the BAYC — two giants in their worlds — but also because of the dream team I got to work with. They really trusted me and gave me total freedom, which is rare and super motivating. My stuff is always packed with little symbols and hidden details, so there’ll be a lot of small touches connecting both BMW and the Club in there.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, BMW first pulled up to the swamp at ApeFest Hong Kong in 2023, where the car company brought out a BMW i5 M60 for a digital light show experience that let Apes project their primates onto the car!

In 2024, the automaker aped in again — this time launching the Bored Ape Bimmer Club, complete with a line of BMW × BAYC merch, a BAYC-themed mixed reality race experience, and a 1/1 “ApeMobile” designed by BAYC member Rida, worth nearly $100,000 and now owned by BAYC member Weidner Dennis.
