After a boozy weekend of ripping Mudwater packs, partying with primates from around the world, and taking countless photos with frens old and new, Bored Ape Yacht Club member and collector Adam Weitsman capped off ApeFest 2026 by acquiring not one, but two grail Bored Apes from MachiBigBrother!
On Saturday, as BAYC members gathered at Beeple Studios for a night filled with Bored Ape Bots, fighting Knights, and a performance by rapper Offset, Weitsman made a golden acquisition of his own, purchasing the iconic gold furred BAYC #197, which was previously featured in the club's Apes vs. Mutants mobile game, from MachiBigBrother in an over the counter deal!
“I’m so happy to acquire this golden grail, especially tonight during Apefest,” Weitsman tweeted. “My conviction in the club has never been stronger, and I’m super grateful to @machibigbrother for making this deal!! BAYC for life!!!!!”
According to Yuga Grails OTC, which facilitated the transaction, the sale marked the highest valued Bored Ape trade in the last 12 months!
But what's more bullish than the NFT space's biggest collector buying a grail Bored Ape during the club's biggest event of the year? Buying two grail Bored Apes in the same weekend!
In another purchase revealed on Sunday, Weitsman announced that he had acquired a blue furred, blue beam eyed Bored Ape from MachiBigBrother that's absolutely insane!
