BAYC TO BUILDING: Yuga Labs CEO Garga Introduced The Community To The Workshop Team Who Will Be Building 'Delightful Shit' On ApeChain!

Things were anything but boring around the swamp this evening after Yuga Labs CEO Garga introduced the club to Yuga Labs' new Workshop division. Think of it as the degen Avengers—except instead of saving the world, they’ll be creating 'delightful shit' on ApeChain, fast!

After Yuga Labs teetered between being a Web2 and Web3 company for the last two years, Cryptonative mechanics and platforms are now back at the forefront.

On Friday, Garga revealed that he assembled a team of 13 degen-brained developers, dubbed the Workshop, right after he resumed the CEO role in February 2024. This team will focus on creating innovative ApeChain products!

“You win by shipping content, tools, and gasoline on-chain, all the time,” Garga tweeted in a lengthy post today. “Content people love that they can't get anywhere else the best tools for a community full of builders with cult like affiliation and degen shit. take coinbase's move to go all-in on base as the lesson. make delightful shit, on-chain, fast. make new primitives and protocols or re-mix old ones. dapps not apps. the workshop is one of the primary ways you're going to see us doing that in the coming weeks and months, as we roll out that team's first set of products on ApeChain. but to be clear: i don't know if the first products that roll out the shop are going to be hits. when something doesn't work, we'll kill it. with love, but no mercy. and we'll ship something new and entirely different. we'll get addicted to the 8-12 week product cycles that we practiced in our first year.  This new yuga looks a lot like the first yuga. but it's not for everyone, and we've had to say goodbye to some folks as we cement this direction.”

 

 

After Garga’s tweet, Apes and Web3 enthusiasts from across the blockchain took to the timeline to comment on the Workshop.

“you don't know how incredibly happy this makes me,” BAYC member and former ApeCoin DAO Special Council Member Captain Trippy tweeted. “So much work behind the scenes by so many to make this possible. It's been a long journey. They say summer bodies are made in the winter. It's been a dark and cold winter that has lasted too long. Summer is coming...”

 

At this time, we don’t know what Garga and the Workshop team have planned, but we do know it could be coming any day now as ApeChain’s mainnet launch is believed to be imminent.
