ELECTION 2022: The Window To Nominate Yourself For The Special Council Race Closes Tonight.
The window for $Ape holders to announce their Special Council candidacies closes tonight!
The ApeCoin community is set to wrap up the first part of the DAO’s election process this evening after the window for users to throw their hats in the ring closes at 9 P.M. EST.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, there are three Special Council seats up for grabs this election season after Dean Steinbeck, Maaria Bajwa, and Amy Wu stepped down from their positions and announced that they will not be running for reelection.
So far at least 10 $Ape holders have officially kicked off their candidacies and are running this election season.
After the window for $Ape holders to nominate themselves to the Special Council closes tonight, there will be a KYC and verification process done by the DAO on all the prospective nominees. This KYC process will take one week, according to the DAO’s election timeline.
Once the KYC process is finished, the DAO will formally introduce all the nominees to the community via a new nominee Discourse section. This will kick off the second phase of the DAO’s election process.
From there, the $Ape community will hold two votes in December. The first vote will be to determine who the candidates for the Special Council election will be. The second vote will be to determine who will serve on the next Special Council in January 2023.
