100,000 Otherdeeds, 10,000 Kodas, 74 Resources, and one massive metaverse economy years in the making are coming online soon. Voyagers, are you ready to break on through to the Otherside?

On Wednesday, Yuga Labs took to the timeline with a four part thread featuring four behind the scenes videos revealing new details about the company’s highly anticipated Otherside Resource game and confirming that Voyagers will take flight before the end of the year!

“Otherside is a next-generation token economy made up of 74 onchain resources,” the company tweeted from its Otherside account. “The only way in and out of the Otherside economy is $APE. Kodas and Voyagers, along with Otherdeed environments, play a central role. Harvest on someone's land, and you pay the owner's fee. Deed owners set the rate. Kodas enhance your play in more ways than one. MegaKodas bless those who give tribute.”

The Otherside Resource game isn’t some minigame or onchain activation. It’s a core piece of Yuga Labs’ multicycle swing, years in the making, and sits at the intersection of two of the company’s biggest pillars, Otherside and ApeChain.

“This isn't a normal product launch,” the said said. “It's the kickoff of one of the most sophisticated game economies ever built on blockchain. We've tested these systems internally through dense simulations. But the only way to know it works is to bring it online, smart contracts and all. Community testing starts small with Yuga deeds and a first set of resources. During this time, if we need to reset resources, we will. Some items are only available during this period. What you craft, you keep. Voyagers will load into their Starpods and take flight this year.”

Tonight, we still don’t know much about exactly how the gameplay, resource gathering, or exploration across the metaverse will work. But Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge gave Voyagers some insight into what they could expect from the game last year at ApeFest.

“Each Otherdeed has resources, characters, artifacts, and other traits that will come into play during the Otherside resource game,” Figge said during his keynote Speech at ApeFest 2025 in Las Vegas. “Otherdeed holders will be in this universe, and they are going to be competing, designing, strategizing, hiring, delegating, and creating. These will become home bases. Resources flow through them. Builders and collectors will work side by side and Kodas supercharge their position.”

Following today’s post from Yuga Labs, prolific Otherside builder and Bored Ape Yacht Club member Rida took to the timeline with an in depth breakdown of the four behind the scenes videos. His analysis highlighted several possible mechanics, including opening and closing an Otherdeed, charging harvesters a resource tax, tracking remaining resources, and more.

“My read: attracting harvesters while managing remaining resources could become a meaningful part of owning land,” Rida wrote.

Looking ahead, Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge and Otherside Lead James Hall are slated to host a Space tomorrow morning at 10 A.M. ET to discuss the update. You can RSVP below:

The Gazette will be in attendance tomorrow, bringing you live updates throughout the Space and a full recap afterward. Stay tuned for updates!
