From everybody was Kung Fu fight-ing to EVERY PUDGY WAS SIP-PING BOBA!
On Monday, crypto’s cutest fat flightless birds announced that they’ll soon be putting the pudgy in Pudgy Penguins with an all new beverage collab that will have crypto consumers and tea connoisseurs waddling to their local Kung Fu Tea!
“We’re excited to announce that we are officially entering the beverage category with Kung Fu Tea,” the brand tweeted. “In the coming weeks, we will be in every Kung Fu Tea nationwide with two Pudgy Penguin themed bubble teas you can enjoy in-stores. Are you ready?”
For those unfamiliar with Kung Fu Tea, it is one of America’s largest bubble tea brands, with more than 350 locations across the United States and additional shops around the world.
The brand is known for its freshly brewed teas, often served with chewy tapioca boba pearls that customers sip through a big, dare we say Pudgy, straw!
"Boba is already part of how our people connect – it's a date, a hangout and something you share with someone you love," Pudgy Penguins Head of Partnerships Steve Starobinsky said. "That made Kung Fu Tea a natural home for Pax and Polly. Bringing the Collector Couple to boba gives our fans a new way to share these characters together while introducing Pudgy Penguins to an entirely new audience."
The two Pengu-inspired drinks will include the “Better Together Milk Tea,” inspired by Pax Pengu and made with Earl Grey milk tea and brown sugar boba, and “Polly’s Sweetheart Slush,” a strawberry slush topped with Oreo pieces and inspired by Polly, according to the brand’s press release published by Licensing Global.
Along with the two new drinks, Kung Fu Tea will also sell Pudgy Penguins’ new “Little Treats” blind box collection.
When we started Kung Fu Tea in New York, our goal was to introduce more people to boba and the culture surrounding it," Kung Fu Tea Chief Operating Officer Steve Luw said. "Today, boba has become part of how a generation connects with shared experiences. Pudgy Penguins understands that sense of community incredibly well, and bringing Pax and Polly to Kung Fu Tea is a natural way to bring our two worlds together."
In the past, Kung Fu Tea has collaborated with major brands and IPs including Red Bull, Barbie, Care Bears, Pokémon, Chimpers, and more, making this latest partnership something worth sipping on!
