"FIRST LAUNCH COMPLETE": ApeCoin’s Exodus Rising Comes To An End, But The Story Will Continue, According To KingPickle

That’s one small step for ApeCoin, one giant leap for ApeChain NFTs. And this onchain event is only the beginning!

Six days. Seventy two communities. and thousands of JPEGs blasted off into space in search of a cure  and in hopes of earning XP, OpenPage Badges, floor sweeps, and maybe even a spacesuit wearing Mutant Ape in what could be the start of a new kind of activation powered by $Ape!

“EXODUS RISING FIRST LAUNCH: COMPLETE,” ApeCoin tweeted this evening. “Leaderboards are locked and verification of the winners is underway. 72 ApeChain communities have set off across the galaxy in search of a cure, but the cure remains unknown. Exodus Rising badges will be available to claim @opdotxyz shortly. Get ready to claim these and more from upcoming challenges by setting up an OpenPage profile and linking the Glyph wallet you used to play Exodus Rising.”

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Exodus Rising was created by DengsOnApe Founder KingPickle and the ApeCoin team. The game was simple, be one of the first 200 holders of an NFT collection to send your JPEGs to space. The farther your NFT’s rocket flies, the more points you earn for yourself and your collection.

As we wait to find out who officially won, Exodus Rising Co-Creator KingPickle took to the timeline and made it clear that this journey is far from over.

Just wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for playing with Exodus Rising this last week It was amazing to see folks join new communities, get wild each day and just overall enjoy the experience! Congrats to the winners of Exodus Rising: Chapter 1,” he tweeted followed by another tweet wiritng “You didn’t think I’d make it THAT easy to find a cure, did you? Just wait fam.”

 

 

While we do not yet know when the next chapter begins, we do know where some of the story inspiration comes from. KingPickle previously said that this was influenced by the science fiction novel Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, where an astronaut wakes up deep in space and must work with an alien.

“I just pull from stuff I like cause that’s easy for me,” he said on a Space. “One of my favorite books is Project Hail Mary and a lot of the premise is similar to that in the sense that I like this idea of everyone having to band together to save everyone. I just think it’s a fun narrative and how does it apply to all of our communities working together.. and benefit our chain.. and keep up having fun.”

 

 

Regardless of what comes next, one thing is clear, participation matters, according to ApeCoin’s Head of Product Ryan Smith.

“We’ve talked a lot about how XP works within the ApeChain ecosystem for these things. We’re taking notes of your activity in this activation,” Smith said on Space earlier this week. “Just like we are taking notes of your activity across InfoFi campaigns and other things we are doing, for things we build in the future that might relate to making sure that everybody feels their contributions to the ecosystem that we are building here together. I’d just encourage you to participate.”
