MONSTERS & MAYHEM: After A Tough Mimus Mint, Hype Says He’s “Not Phased” And That There’s “Still Work To Do”

Bots were out in full force on Monday for Bored Ape Yacht Club member Hype’s free Mimu mint, but that’s not going to stop him from trying to make these little “Monsters In My Universe” the next big thing in the metaverse!

On Monday, Hype’s highly anticipated free mint took over the timeline as nearly all of ApeChain tried to ape in and pick up some of these new NFTs.

 

The mint happened over multiple phases and provided tons of projects with allocations in hopes of giving more and more people the chance to ape in.

Unfortunately, a lot of bots showed up, and many users tweeted that they were unable to pick one up despite being allowlisted through multiple communities.

 

While things didn’t go entirely as planned, there were some beautiful displays of community in the chaos.

Grateful Ape co-hosted the mint party for 10 hours straight alongside Hype, ApeChain’s KingPickle stepped up to combat the bots, and Geez On Ape founder Rida threw his full support behind Hype and the Mimus.

 

After the Mimus officially minted out, Hype took to the timeline to share his thoughts on the day, saying his goal was to bring people together with a free mint. And while things didn’t go exactly as planned, he’s excited to keep building.

 

“We wanted to bring the community together. Spent countless weeks, days and hours to give back for everyone else to eat on. And yet people be so petty,” he wrote. “Not going to be phased by the negativity, but this is why some of you all make it hard for anyone to want to be in this space. But those who bitched the most do something with your communities, do better and maybe not rely on others to spark energy in your world. For those who supported thank you! For those who didn't or bitched...lol. Go whine to someone who actually cares. We still have work to do.”

 

 

Tonight, Mimus are trading on OpenSea and already have a pre-reveal floor price of 350 $Ape on 116,000 $Ape worth of volume in just a couple of hours, proving that real communities are rallying around Hype, who has been consistently building within the Otherside and ApeChain ecosystem since the beginning!

 

 

Mimus are slated to reveal on Tuesday, April 14 at 9 P.M. EST.
