Forget the Louvre! AJ Scaramucci wants to put his new PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator card in the Nintendo Museum!

Trading cards are the talk of the timeline this week after AJ Scaramucci, the son of former White House Communications Director and SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci, made history by purchasing the world’s only PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator card from Logan Paul at a Goldin auction for $16.5 million.

As the Gazette previously reported, this Pikachu isn’t just any Pokémon card. In fact, it makes first edition Charizards look common.

In 1998, 39 copies of the card, designed by Pikachu creator Atsuko Nishida, were awarded to winners of a Pokémon illustration contest, and this is the only one graded PSA 10. Simply put, the card has incredible lore and is truly one of a kind!

Immediately after purchasing the card, Scaramucci revealed this is only the beginning of his collecting.

“I’m on a planetary treasure hunt right now, “he said. “I’m on a quest to buy a T- Rex, that’s on my list. I’m going to buy the Declaration of Independence… and I’m not stopping there. This is only the beginning.”

This, Scaramucci announced that he isn’t looking to hoard his treasures, but to share them with the world.

“Let's get this into the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto and cement it as the "Mona Lisa" of the Pokémon Franchise,” he tweeted along with a photo of his new card.

“This is the way…,” his dad replied.

The Gazette will continue to follow AJ and will let you know where his planetary treasure hunt takes him next. Stay tuned for updates!
