Ladies and gentle-Apes, please fasten your seatbelts because CyberKongz are ready for takeoff!

From the cockpit to the collection, HV-MTL owner and NFT enthusiast Adam Weitsman purchased a high flying CyberKongz, dubbed Captain Kong, on Thursday for 6 ETH, or roughly $10,250 USD.

"I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to secure a grail from one of my favorite OG collections  @CyberKongz,” Weitsman wrote. “Captain Kong was 1 of 10 Legendary Kongz auctioned in March 2021. Proceeds from the auction were donated to Orangutan Outreach. Created by the legendary  @myoo_ck the artist and original founder of CyberKongz. Special thanks to  @HenryTheGrape for being instrumental in this transaction, and for my brother  @nichoviss for helping me just get shit done.”

Following the purchase, CyberKongz creator Myoo took to the timeline to welcome Weitsman to the troop and congratulate him on acquiring the aviation ape.

“Great to see a legendary genesis kong in the hands of a legendary collector,” he said.

For those unfamiliar with CyberKongz, the collection consists of 1,000 pixelated primates that became one of the standout projects of the 2021 bull run. The project helped pioneer NFT utility through its $BANANA token, which at its peak generated more than $1,000 per day for holders. Over the years, CyberKongz has also partnered with Adidas, appeared at Christie's, and cemented itself as one of the most recognizable collections from the early days of NFTs.

Today, the project is focused on its new $KONG token, which serves as a rewards system for the broader CyberKongz ecosystem.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Weitsman and will keep you posted on all things CyberKongz going forward. Stay tuned for updates!
