From Ethereum to the halls of Congress, the Pudgy Penguins are in Washington, D.C. this week, meeting with legislators and helping them waddle through the world of crypto.

On Thursday, Pudgy Penguins Co-Founder and President Lorenzo, the brand’s Head of Strategy Vedant, and the Solana Policy Institute’s Colin McLaren hosted an open invite event for policymakers at the Rayburn House Office Building, where they discussed Pudgy Penguins, crypto’s role in the broader economy, and the technology beyond memecoins.

“Today was a special day for our government relations efforts at Pudgy Penguins,” Vedant tweeted. “When we first started making trips to the Hill, the vision was clear: lead the charge in showing lawmakers the retail and mass-market use cases of crypto through the Pudgy Penguins brand…As always, we have even bigger things cooking behind the scenes that we can’t wait to share with you all. We firmly believe that when Pudgy Penguins wins, the entire space wins with us. The best is yet to come.”

As the Gazette previously reported, Pudgy Penguins have been getting political for some time now, advocating for Web3, NFTs, and crypto.

Back in January 2026, the team met with Securities and Exchange Commissioner Hester Peirce and left feeling “very optimistic about the future of crypto.”

Pudgy’s outreach appears to be working. Over the past year, several members of Congress, including Tim Moore, William Timmons, and Mike Rulli, have embraced the Penguins, even changing their X profile pictures to Pengu versions of themselves.

The Gazette will continue to follow Pudgy Penguins as they huddle up in D.C. and will keep you posted on any and all developments surrounding Web3 legislation. Stay tuned for updates!
