Five years, 1,826 days, and thousands of us are still bored, and we’re not going anywhere.

Thursday marked the fifth anniversary of the Bored Ape Yacht Club pre-sale, kicking off half a decade of boredom, lifelong friendships, and more.

From edits to memories to full blown works of art, the timeline turned into a digital scrapbook of the swamp!

"Gm and Happy Birthday to @BoredApeYC and the community,” Longtime member DragonSeller tweeted. “5 years and we been through some shit and props to those who never left and warm welcome to those who just joined the community. We just getting started. Believe in what you love and have some balls to endure the pain while doing so. It will all be worth it. NFA of course. You do youAs Apes took a moment to look back at the last five years, the Club took to the timeline and gave around an idea of what’s to come!”

As Apes looked back on the last five years, the Club also took a moment to reflect on the journey so far.

“Five years is a long time on the internet. It’s long enough to understand what makes something different, and to recognize when it becomes part of people’s lives in a real way. The Bored Ape Yacht Club has always been more than something you scroll past. It’s something people step into, build with, and carry with them. That’s what makes this a Club. Like  @mfigge said recently, the Club should live in your world, not just your timeline. That's where we're headed.”

Looking ahead, the club plans to double down on collecting, community, and what it truly means to be a “Yacht Club.”

“We’ve also been thinking about what it actually means to be a Yacht Club - not just the name, but the feeling behind it.That’s starting to take shape. From here on out, you’ll see it show up more clearly in our apparel, our collaborations, and an aesthetic that finally does the Yacht Club name justice. Five years in, and we’re not slowing down. There’s more to share, but for now… thanks for being an Ape. Thanks for being in the Club.”

The Gazette wishes all Apes a happy anniversary and looks forward to reporting live from the swamp every single day for years to come. Stay tuned for updates!
