FUCK IT, WE’RE FIVE: 150+ BAYC Members Get Together In LA To Celebrate Five Insane Years Around The Swamp!

From strange noises in the basement of the Bored Ape Yacht Club five years ago to a packed house in Los Angeles last night, the Mutant Apes are still insane and definitely making noise!
On Thursday, more than 150 Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club members got together to celebrate five years of insanity around the swamp!
Serums were chugged, art was appreciated, and online frens, old and new, enjoyed each other’s company as they celebrated the heartbeat of the best club on the internet at Peter Fang and Swickie’s Fuck It LA, hosted at Melrose House in the City of Angels!
“Reception felt incredible to have that many BAYC and MAYC in one room,” Swickie told the Gazette. “ It was a reminder of how powerful community is when people are actually recognized as part of the lore. So many monkes contributed to Fuck It LA in so many different ways. Grateful they entrusted us with the storytelling and artistic aspects of the event.”
From scarves by Pauser to surreal canvases by Jessica Wild Child, works from 30 Ape artists were on full display, turning Melrose House into a shrine to the club’s five years of insanity!
Speaking of shrines, one of the most viral works from last night’s event was a shrine to Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge, created by Boring Brush and inspired by a Beeple Everyday commemorating the day the legendary primate became the company’s top ape-xecutive.
“Thrilled to see our work at FUCK It LA,” Boring Brush tweeted. “ @Swickie knows how to put her super talented artistic touch into every corner! Recreation of @beeple post with our @mfigge bust was a dream come true for us thank you to the coolest couple @Swickie @peterjfang.”
Five years after Mutant Apes made their way to the swamp, Swickie says she’s more excited than ever about the future of the club, and she can’t wait to fuck around and host another event!
“Figge as CEO has refreshed my excitement for the direction we are going,” she said. “Five years later I still feel the same: there’s no internet club like the bored apes. And, it’s the apes that make it. I love hosting irl experiences for all of us. I also had epic teammates, Peter and Gene.”
