Genies CEO, Akash Nigam Purchased A King Crown Bored Ape For 70 Eth
The CEO and Founder of Genies, Akash Nigam, made waves at the Bored Ape Yacht Club after purchasing a king crown ape for 70 Eth on Friday.
“After 24 hours of obsessing, I finally landed on one that meant the world to me," Nigam tweeted Friday afternoon. “My latest morning bub #5621. Thanks @domain you're a real one. My cabinet @BelfortNFT @OGDfarmer in my ears, love you both. #BAYC I’m all fucking in now.”
Nigam’s ape, Bored Ape #5621 is a seven trait gray fur ape with coin eyes, a sleeveless shirt and of course, the signature king crown. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #5621 is the 874th rarest ape, according to Rarity Tools.
“Glory to the new Crowned King,” BAYC member King BlackBored tweeted after the purchase.
Nigam purchased Bored Ape #5621 for 70 Eth or roughly $224,000 from Opensea user, DomainBooth. Booth Purchased the king bored ape for 33.33 Eth 17 days ago, according to Opensea.
After purchase of Bored Ape #5621, Nigam now owns two Bored Apes.
Nigam founded his company, Genies, in 2017. The company’s “consumer app allow users to create fully personalized avatars to be used in apps such as Giphy, iMessage, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and more,” according to Wikipedia. The company is valued at over $100 million.
