GREETINGS: A Crypto Whale Purchased An Alien CryptotPunk For $16 Million USD!

An anonymous Crypto whale just beamed up an otherworldly CryptoPunk, sending shockwaves across the Ethereum network and the broader Web3 ecosystem!

On Wednesday, Wallet 0x9Bc2D56633f898D7eF5d02B6dC047A7DAA34eF35 purchased CryptoPunk #7804 from longtime CryptoPunk holder Peruggia for 4,850 Eth or  $16,421,614 USD.

 

CryptoPunk #7804 is a three attribute alien type Punk with a forward cap, small shades, and a pipe. Based on these traits, CryptoPunk #7804 is the 11th most punk CryptoPunk, according to Rarity Sniper.

“End of an era,” Peruggia tweeted after the sale. “I've long since felt like an imposter. Holding punks, and potentially NFTs a whole hostage by not elevating 7804 in the way he deserves. After over a year of looking around I feel I've found the right buyer with the right vision to appropriately elevate this asset.”

While Peruggia did not name who the anonymous buyer of CryptoPunk #7804 was, we do know that the person has a lot of Eth at their disposal and moved the  coins used for today’s purchase from a Coinbase Prime Wallet and Wallet 0xceB69F6342eCE283b2F5c9088Ff249B5d0Ae66ea to Wallet0x9Bc2 specifically to buy this Punk, according to Etherscan.

This is not the first time that Wallet 0xceB69F has been connected to major sales in the Yugaverse. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, this wallet was connected to an 18 CryptoPunk sweep on January 19th, 2024, and was also associated with the purchase of a pair of Bored Apes in April 2022.

At time of this article’s publication, Wallet 0xceB69F currently holds $14,234,642 USD worth of coins, according to Etherscan data.
