Gucci Now Accepts $Ape As A Payment Option. Find Out More Here:
Bored Ape Yacht Club members are feeling gucci after the Italian high-end luxury fashion house, Gucci, announced that it would start accepting payments in $Ape.
“Now accepting @ApeCoin payments via @BitPay,” Gucci tweeted this morning. “Select Gucci boutiques in the USA expand the range of cryptocurrencies available for in-store purchases, yet another step in the House's exploration of Web3.”
Following the announcement, the ApeCoin DAO tweeted that its looking forward to seeing $Ape used as a payment option at Gucci.
“Excited to announce that @Gucci will become the first major brand to allow customers to pay for purchases in-store with ApeCoin, via @BitPay,” the DAO tweeted.
The company facilitating the $Ape payments for Gucci is the crypto payment company, Bitpay. Bitpay is a Bitcoin payment service provider founded in 2011 and headquartered in Atlanta Georgia.
In a Bitpay press release released by the company this morning, BitPay’s CEO, Stephen Pair, explained why his company added $Ape as a payment option.
“We added ApeCoin and Euro Coin because customers of our luxury merchant partners asked for it,” Pair said in the press release. “They asked, and we delivered.”
