It’s been a somber week around the swamp after Yuga Labs said goodbye to three community legends who may no longer work at the company but will always be Apes.

Earlier this week, longtime Yuga Labs team members Boris Vagner, Mr. Eth, and Pablo Lopez departed the company as part of a broader restructuring following its recent Improbable M Squared acquisition, putting a greater focus on product and engineering.

“It's always super hard to have to say goodbye to anybody,” Garga said during today's Meet At The Club house Space. “We had to make the hard choice to be more focused on product and Eng. We have 26 people coming from the Improbable acquisition that we did. So we just had to make sure we are set up the right way.”

We are growing as a company as a result of this acquisition, Garga continued. “So we are bigger and stronger and hope we get to see our pals at ApeFest.. All still family obviously.”

Whether it was answering holder questions and requesting feet pics in Discord, sharing important updates, saying GM on the timeline, or spotlighting fellow Apes, Boris, Mr. Eth, and Pablo were daily fixtures around the swamp and helped shape the culture that made this the best club on the internet.

While the trio may be leaving Yuga Labs, they’re not leaving the swamp or Web3. After their final days, each took to the timeline to thank Yuga Labs and their fellow primates for the adventure of a lifetime.

“4 years. Employee #12,” Boris tweeted. “I wore every hat you can imagine - social lead, marketing, products, activations, management, you name it. Got to help build something truly special from the early days. But the best part? The people. I gained a whole new family through this community. The connections and relationships I’ve made mean more than anything else. Grateful for every bit of it.”

Mr. Eth Echoed Boris’ kind words, thanking Garga and the team for taking a chance on first semester med school student five years ago!

“The Yuga community gave me a home in this industry, and I'm so grateful for every interaction, every event, every late night pushing to get things right for you all,” he said. “To the Yuga team, thank you for taking a chance on a degen who bet everything on a jpeg. That bet changed my life. Web3 is my home and I'm not going far.”

“Forever grateful to the entire team,” Pablo simply wrote on his last day. “You changed my life.”

The Gazette will continue to follow Boris, Mr. Eth, and Pablo and will let you know what they do next. Stay tuned for updates.
