HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Take A Look At Some Of The BAYC Highlights From The Past Year And See What's Next:

As the Bored Ape Yacht Club turns one year old today, the club and its founders took time to reflex on how far this project has come.

“One year ago today, the Bored Ape Yacht Club mint began," the BAYC tweeted. “What an insane year. Here’s to many more to come. Happy Birthday, apes!”

What an insane year indeed. One year ago today, the first Bored Ape was minted for .08 Eth. Today, April 23rd, 2022, the floor price for a Bored Ape is 130 Eth.

In one year’s time, the BAYC has done a lot. In June, the club gave each ape a Bored Ape Kennel Club Dog and donated the $500,000 worth of royalties to the Orangutan Outreach. In August, the club expanded its membership by creating the Mutant Ape Yacht Club. Later that fall, the BAYC brought apes and mutant apes from around the world together to party at Ape Fest. Then in January 2o22 apes competed in the first of its kind mobile game competition, then just two months later in March, the club launched $Ape Coin and created the ApeCoin DAO.

Between all that, A-list celebrities entered the swamp, apes were sold at the world’s most prestigious art auction houses, Adidas collaborated with the BAYC, among other insane accomplishments.

“So much to be grateful for, and so much balder than I was a year ago,” BAYC Co-Founder Garga tweeted.

Fellow Club Co- Founder Gordon Goner echoed Garga's comments and thanked BAYC members for an amazing first year. "Thank you for this past year, apes. Working on behalf of the BAYC continues to be the greatest privilege of my life. I don’t take it for granted for even a moment. Happy Birthday."

To celebrate the first birthday of the club, the BAYC released new information about the club’s upcoming metaverse.

"The adventure begins, the club tweeted from its new Twitter account @Othersidemeta. “Otherside. 4/30, 12pm ET. P.S. Otherside Discord is open: https://discord.gg/the-otherside”

After the announcement, apes and NFT enthusiast rushed to join the Otherside Discord. Within minutes, tens of thousands of people aped into the new channel crashing the Discord server.

While not much is known about the Otherside metaverse, Yuga Labs, the BAYC’s parent company, shared a 90 second teaser trailer on March 18, 2022.
