HOWL: A Mega Mutant Hound That's Inspired By Gordon Goner's Ape Was Revealed Today

Mutant Monday was insane around the swamp as a Mega Mutant Hound that's design was inspired by one of the Bored Ape Yacht Club Co-Founders’ primates was revealed.

The Mutant Cartel and the Mutant Hounds joined Bekin.Eth on a journey past an ominous ancient rune where the group summoned a mighty protector named Guardian during a live stream event on YouTube this afternoon.

“Live community events are hard to pull off,” Mutant Hounds Founder Lior tweeted after today’s reveal. “Especially when so much story, lore, and thought goes into them. Tonight, we revealed Guardian. I could not be happier with the outcome. Hounds are BUILDING, and it’s becoming obvious to the rest of the space too.”

Guardian is an insane robotic Mutant Hound with blue beam eyes and an orange background. Guardians’ design was inspired by BAYC Co-Founder, Gordon Goner’s legendary primate, according to Lior.

“Meet Guardian, the Blue Beam Mega,” Lior tweeted in December 2022. “Deep in the caves underneath the Hideout, Caleb Lockjaw toiled to create the perfect Hound. A ruthless protector of all apes. To forge this masterpiece, Caleb studied one of the oldest and most powerful Apes on earth. We love you, Gordo.”

“So amazing to see this Hound come to life today,” Mutant Cartel Boss Vnrgd tweeted. “We love you @GordonGoner !howl.”

Things have been anything but boring for the Mutant Hounds and Mutant Cartel recently. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the project was announced as a Battle Ally NFT project in Yuga Labs’ upcoming Legends of The Mara game.

Further, the project was also announced as a co-host for the BAYC's "Fuck It Saturday" Mutant Ape Yacht Club two year anniversary party in Miami next month.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Mutant Hounds project and will let you know what these dogs do next!
