HV Holders Got Their First Look At Mechs' EV02 Forms And Garga Teased More Utility For HVs During Last Night's Bored Meeting

As Bored Ape Yacht Club members gathered in the Community Discord for the club’s second-ever Bored Meeting last night, Apes got an update on HV-MTLs, and Yuga Labs gave HV Holders their first glimpse of EV02 Glitch-type Mechs!

On Monday, Yuga Labs Co-Founder and CEO, Garga, was asked about the company’s plans for HV-MTL, to which Garga explained that he and the team are working on a second gaming activation for the collection and that Yuga Labs will have more utility outside of gaming for HV’s soon.

Coinciding with Garga’s comments, Yuga Labs’ Gaming account took to Twitter and shared a 10-second teaser trailer showcasing Glitch-type Mechs EV02 forms.

“J3FF and the HV's are still building, but here's a little tease into what's cooking for EVO-2,” Yuga Labs tweeted.

Following Yuga Labs’ post, Garga went on to tell Bored Meeting attendees that each HV-MTL type will have a different silhouette and there will be a ton of variety within the collection.

While Garga did not specify when HV Holders will be able to turn their EV01 Mechs into their next form, we do know that the 'Journey to EV02' begins in June, along with 'AMP Claim' and 'EV02' in early 2024 and Spring 2024 respectively, according to Yuga Labs’ MDvMM website.

“We are taking what we learned and heard and applying it for EVO2, yes this will means a bit of a delay but we intend to ensure the next set of experiences are excellent and leverage the insights and time to supervise and delight our Collectors and players,” Yuga Labs Chief Gaming Officer Spencer Tucker said on December 5, 2023.

 

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, HV-MTL Holders who want to eventually upgrade their Mechs to their EV02 forms will have to have earned, or later this year buy, at least 3 Amps and apply them to their robotic creatures.

 

While HV Holders do not know what else Garga and Yuga Labs are planning for the HV-MTL collection in terms of a second activation and non-gaming utility, we do know that the Mechs will eventually be integrated into Yuga Labs’ Legends Of The Mara game, have added benefits in Dookey Dash Unclogged, and will play a role in Yuga Labs’ upcoming mobile game that will debut in 2024.

 

“I know we just wrapped up forge, and we’ve had something under our belts for a while here," Garga said at ApeFest 2023. "So, we have a partnership on a mobile first cross platform game coming in 2024 that’s been in development for over two years. I think it’s pretty sick and I think we are going to have a lot of fun all together. And don’t worry, it's skill based and there’s no voting. And obviously Apes Doggos, HVs, and mutants are coming along for the ride. We’re stoked for that.”
