ALL HANDS ON DECK: OpenSea Announces March 30 Virtual Event Teasing “Major Updates”

Batten down the hatches, swab the decks, and raise the sails! OpenSea is calling an all hands on deck meeting, and everyone is invited.
On Monday, the NFT marketplace turned everything Web3 platform announced it will host a live virtual event on March 30th, teasing big news!
“Join us March 30th for a live event,” OpenSea tweeted on Monday. “Major updates on what we've been building and where we're headed. The next chapter for OpenSea. Sails up.”
“there are so many fun things we can’t wait to share,” OpenSea CTO Chris Maddern tweeted. “Hope to see you all there (virtually).”
While the company did not provide specific details about what will be revealed, the timing is notable.
OpenSea has previously confirmed that its highly anticipated Token Generation Event for the $SEA token is expected by the end of Q1 2026, which is March 31st.
“Timing. $SEA is coming in Q1 2026,” OpenSea Co-Founder and CEO Devin Finzer wrote on October 17th.
At the time Finzer added that 50% of the supply will be allocated to the community, with a large portion distributed through an initial claim that rewards both longtime users and participants in OpenSea rewards programs. Finzer also said teased that $SEA will be deeply integrated into the platform.
While OpenSea has not publicly delayed the $SEA launch, bettors on Polymarket currently believe the token will not arrive before the end of Q1 2026.
